Ask HPL—Chat (reference service) with a Librarian

In an effort to be increasingly available to our patrons the Hinsdale Public Library has created a new reference service, Ask HPL. Using an instant messaging service you can ask the reference staff your question from any internet enabled computer.

Need a quick answer and can’t get to the library? IM us! We’ll assist you with your reference question in real time.

Not up to speed with instant messaging? There’s an IM primer on the Tech Talk section of our Web site.

Think you’ll be a steady user of Ask HPL? Add us to your buddy list.

Ready to chat with a Reference Librarian? Log onto your service and Ask HPL.
