ADULT SERVICES:
On Monday, May 10, the final session of Effective Resumes, Interviewing, and Job Search Techniques will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is sponsored by Illinois' IDES department. Register online.
It's time for another Got Game! in Adult Services. This Open Gaming Night will be on Friday, May 15, from 7 to 10 p.m. Everyone is welcome, but children under 17 must have a signed permission slip (available at the Adult Reference Desk) in order to attend. For more information, call extension 272.
YOUTH SERVICES:
May 11-17 is Children's Book Week. As part of the celebration, Youth Services has several events planned. On both Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10 a.m., short picture-book-related Pre-School Films will be shown in Kids Corner. Pillow and blankets may be brought along. No tickets or registration are needed, but children under 4 must be accompanied by an adult.
On Thursday, May 14, Alex Brooks from the Des Plaines Canine Training Center, will present the program Training to Be Top Dog: Guiding Your Pet to Good Behaviour at 7 p.m. Mr. Brooks has trained animals for K-9 units, television, and film productions. Learn how to modify your pet's actions and learn how to talk to them effectively. As he will be bringing his own dogs as models, no other dogs are permitted to attend. This program is for grades 6 through adult. Register online.
