LIBRARY HAPPENINGS DECEMBER 29-JANUARY 4
REMINDER: The Library will be CLOSED after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, and ALL DAY on Thursday, January 1.
On Monday,. December 29, there will be two performances of Magic and Illusion by magician Paul Lee & Company. All ages are welcome to come to the Large Meeting Room at either 11 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. No tickets are needed, but preschoolers must come with an adult. Because of limited space, Elk Grove residents will be given priority for seating.
On Saturday, January 3, registration will begin--online or by phoning the Library at extension 267 or 268--for Winter Programming. Check the Highlights or the online Calendar for information about upcoming programs and Storytimes.

LIBRARY HAPPENINGS
REMINDER: The Library will be CLOSED on both Wednesday and Thursday, December 24 and 25. It will reopen on Friday, December 26, at 9 a.m.
YOUTH SERVICES:
On Monday, December 22, the Melikin Puppets will be performing a special Holiday Program at 11 a.m. All ages are welcome, but preschoolers must come with an adult. Elk Grove residents will be seated first.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT ON SATURDAY
On Saturday, December 20, at 2 p.m, the Ambassadors singing group from the Senior Center will be performing in the Large Meeting Room. Join them for an afternoon of Christmas music--"with a twist"! No tickets or registrations are necessary.

LIBRARY HAPPENINGS DECEMBER 15-21
On Monday, December 25, at 7 p.m., the movie Fred Claus, starring Paul Giamatti and Vince Vaughn, will be shown in the Large Meeting Room. Mishaps abound when Santa's older, bitter, brother is forced to move in at the North Pole. Rated PG. No tickets or reservations are needed.

This is the final week for Holiday Crafts. There are still openings for all three:
Tuesday, December 9, at 4 p.m.--for children in grades 3-5 (fleece Winter Pillow)
Wednesday, December 10, at 7 p.m.--for children in grades 6-12 (Snowman Shelf Sitter)
Thursday, December 11, at 4 p.m.--for children in grades 1-2 (Gingerbread House Picture Frame)

ADULT SERVICES:
The annual holiday craft for adults will be held tonight, Monday, December 1, at 7 p.m. The craft is a 2009 Scrapbook Calendar. Photos need to be brought by the attendees; the calendar will be provided. [This class is already full.]
YOUTH SERVICES:
Holiday Crafts for children are scheduled for this week and next. This week all the preschool-Kindergarten classes will be held. They will be creating a Gingerbread House Photo Frame:
Tuesday, December 2, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Wednesday, December 3, at 7 p.m.
Thursday, December 4, at 10 a.m.
The classes for 1st-2nd graders--they will be making a Snowman Measuring Stick--will be on:
Tuesday, December 2, at 4 p.m.
Thursday, December 11, at 4 p.m.
The Classes for 3rd-5th graders-they will be making a fleece pillow--will be on:
Thursday, December 4, at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, December 9, at 4 p.m.
The YA Craft (grades 6-12) will be on Wednesday, December 10, at 7 p.m. They will be making a Snowman Shelf Sitter.
All of these classes have openings. Register online or by phoning extension 268. Examples of all these projects can be seen in Youth Services.
