There is currently a Waiting List for this class.

YOUTH SERVICES:
This week the regular Ready-to-Read classes will not meet because the annual Halloween Parties for children up to Kindergarten age will be presented. There will be skits, a puppet show, the exciting Parade through the library, and a special surprise treat. There is no registration necessary. The times are:
Tuesday, October 28, at 10 a.m. and at 1 p.m.
Wednesday, October 29, at 7 p.m.
Thursday, October 30, at 10 a.m.
Children are invited to wear costumes. Photos are encouraged.

On Friday, October 31, there will be Trick-or-Treating at various stations in the Library all day until closing at 7 p.m.

Registration for the 2009 Battle of the Books for 4th and 5th grades has begun. Registration must be in person at the Youth Services Desk with a parent since permission slips signed by a parent are necessary to complete registration. Teams should have a name, as well, if possible. Registration ends Friday, November 7. There is also a mandatory informational meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, at 6 p.m. NOTE: this is the correct date; the date given in Highlights and Bookworm is incorrect.

There are still openings for the upcoming Chess Tournament on Saturday, November 7, at 1:30 p.m. Participants do not have to have taken the classes offered here. It is open to any student in kindergarten through 12th grade. Register online.

Games for the Playstation 2 are now available in Youth Services. There are also games for Wii, Playstation 3, and X-Box 360. They circulate for one week and there is a limit of two games per card.
