ADULT SERVICES:
Learn how to Create an Easy Pop-up Greeting Card--just in time for Mothers' Day--on Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m. Computer graphics, stickers, magazine pictures, and stamps can all be used to make these unique cards. Sign up at the Reception desk; class size is limited.
The Morning Book Group will be discussing Wallace Earle Stegner's 1987 book, Crossing to Safety (two couples remain friends through many years, beginning in the 1930's) on Tuesday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call Chris Mika at extension 271.
YOUTH SERVICES:
On Thursday, May 10, Shannon Townsend will return for an advanced program on Digital Manga and Coloring. Open to students in Grades 6 to 12, the program will run from 7-8:30 p.m. Snacks and raffle prizes will be a part of the evening's activities. Register online; class size is limited.
The annual Drop-in Mothers' Day Craft--a beaded pin and more--will once again be offered on Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Registration is suggested to be sure enough supplies are on hand, but is not absolutely required.
Also on Saturday, May 12, a special appearance by Iditarod participant Karen Land and her sled dog, Borage, will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. See a short film and examine some of the gear used during the famous race. No registration required. [This event is not listed in Highlights]
